Scarlet Girl

So here is sit, in the forest of the crowd
With the sound of the music so loud,
And I say to me, I’ll take tonight
To carry me through, the lonely times
With the bottle, to keep me company.

I always look back, as I hurt day and night
The mistake I meant, to ignore the signs
Listening to no one, blinded by love;
The bottle shakes the stress away
For her being away, night and day.

She made my head twirl, this girl
The day I met her, kissed me like the French
Shook ass to my face, tripping my glass
Made love of the Kama Sutra, made my body swirl.

She slept with friends, turned them fiend
Lied to me yet called me babe, did best to pretend
Instead of her behavior I was her savior;
She walks out the door, and I die a little more
Knowing she’s out riding some other men’s car.

So here is sit, in the forest of the crowd
With the sound of the music so loud,
And I say to me, I’ll take tonight
To carry me through, the lonely times

With the bottle, to keep me company.
