the man on the hill watching
vultures scavenging
the carcass of a country
his father bequeathed.
The People are crying
times are hard, and trying
their children are dying
masses starving
gods of their fathers have abandoned them.
Poli-ticks are fighting
scrambling to suck more power
draining the national cash cow:
the goons they hire
are turning against them.
The youth are dying
for their country
fighting wars away from home
while the old are sleeping
drooling in the august house.
