O Thee God of Love

I pray not to be hurt by love,
But to be strong to move on;

I pray not to feel the pain,
But for the heart to conquer it;

I pray not to break the trust,
But to overcome the distrust;

I pray not to be loved,
But to love;

I pray not to fight for love,
But to win by letting go;

Grant me that I break no heart,
But grasp my hand when I'm hurt
Having faith in my hopelessness.
